Well time for a fresh new update. That old one was getting crowded up with "comments", and I had to extend the length of time that posts are on the front page to keep it up, and now there is new information and topics to discuss.
First of all, we're now looking for a new recording date. Also, some time to practice/write new songs would be sweet because pretty much everyone has new material and we might as well get as many songs as possible recorded, and that includes new ones. So we're looking for record/practice dates (We'll record songs we know first, of course).
Apparently we're not doing the Alzeimer's thing, as well, so everyone's twenty bucks less. I don't know why.
Finally, the core issue that I'm addressing. Today I talked to Kay Fox about playing at the senior party. Since this is supposed to be sorta secret, email me if you want info at FOUNTAINHEADSENIORPARTYHECKYES@arbeyond.com .
What I can and will make public here is that they need a map/stage layout/whatever, so I have made one, and here it is.

Please signfy your opinion of this.
Posted by Andrew Richner at May 16, 2005 07:11 PMI like the way this one looks, I say we stick with it unless something comes up.
Posted by: The Reverend Doctor M. Flash at May 16, 2005 07:23 PMAlternatively, there's this
ALTERNATE STAGE MAP!.
Personally, I think we should put all our amps in the front and just stand behind them. The people in the back are kind of getting screwed, and having an amp behind a wall of people isn't the best for sound quality (it will be pretty poor anyways so we should try to get the best possible).
Posted by: Justin Bunke at May 16, 2005 07:43 PMIs there any possible way to get a PA system?
Posted by: Nate at May 16, 2005 08:46 PMI vote you go with the mirror image, because it's much sweeter, other than that you did your picture slightly strange, maybe intentionally i don't know, but normally justin is on the side with Andrew and mark is on the other side. (You probally already know this though.)
Posted by: bottle at May 16, 2005 09:50 PMJustin, there is a flaw in your logic, I'm the only one getting screwed. The frequency at which a bass is played does not allow for the air to resonate, rather it has to push the air. Therefor, I need to actually move the air when I play, making the wall of people an issue. However, when there are comments on "Damn son, that bass was pimpin' fresh, yo" I have discovered I can be heard well. The guitar plays at a frequency which vibrates the air and allows the sound to carry through the air, rather than with the air (somewhat). So, with the guitar amp tucked inside the setup, acoustically, there aren't any issues. The only problem is us not rocking out with enough cock out. More cock, gentlemen.
Posted by: The Reverend Doctor M. Flash at May 16, 2005 10:00 PMTo Nate:
Kay Fox asked about that, and I told her that we would need some sort of sound system. She said that she can either borrow something from the school, or Brennan might have something she could borrow. I assume they are providing mics and mic stands, as well as power strips, because those were the things she asked me about today.
To everyone:
I neglected to mention that this diagram is for me to give to Kay Fox directly or indirectly so that she with her party planning committee can know what our setup is and that way they can get all the right stuff in the right places and set up a bit without us. There is some more information about when we play and stuff, but since there are other people who visit this site, I'm not really supposed to post it publically.
Finally, here's a different stage map. Not as pretty and symmetrical, but it's another option:
ALTERNATE ALTERNATE STAGE MAP!
I like the alternative squared one.
Posted by: Justin Bunke at May 16, 2005 11:56 PMOn the Luther housing application we had to put what music we liked and I was a little nervous about checking "Alternative"
Thought everyone should know.
Posted by: Michael A. Harms, Esq. at May 17, 2005 09:23 AMI like the original for the most part. Can Mike and I have separate mics? That would be ideal. I have a good idea for another alternate stage plan. I'll email it to whoever wants it, but I'll describe it: switch Mark with his amp and Justin with his. We can also put Justin's amp in front of the horns. That way the amps will be out of the way and not hiding anyone from view. It should also provide better sound with not all the sound coming from one relatively focused area. Anyway, think about it...
Posted by: David W. at May 17, 2005 12:09 PMOkay, I ran my stage plan by Joe from Runway and he said that everything might work even better if the big amps are put in the back. Also, bass and chucka chucka amps should be closer to the drum set. Talk to me for questions. The End.
Love,
David
On mics:
I already told her we could do with three, so if you want another one, we can bring one of ours and one of our stands, I guess. Sorry for just grouping you both on the same mic. Mike said he could deal with it.
Go ahead and send your stage plan, and I'll put it up. Email address is up there.
Posted by: Andrew Richner at May 17, 2005 05:34 PMJust for the record, the back kicks ass, no one move me.
Posted by: The Reverend Doctor M. Flash at May 17, 2005 08:38 PMWhatever the stage plan is on Thursday is what we go with. Right now it's the one that's up in the regular post. Unless that changes tomorrow, I'm printing it off tomorrow night and bringing it in.
